  • Target is keeping four Idaho stores open late on October 2 for the midnight release of Taylor Swift's new album The Life of a Showgirl. Twin Falls is one of the chosen locations—offering three exclusive album editions with unique extras—to give fans the first chance to buy a physical copy.  1310 KLIX
  • The Haunted Swamp in Twin Falls will open on Friday, September 18th at 646 S Park Ave W—opening night tickets are buy one get one free. On Saturday, September 20th, visitors who donate a canned food item will pay $15 instead of $22 as the attraction marks its 18th year.  1310 KLIX

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Fire managers will lift stage one fire restrictions this week because weather improvements mean conditions no longer meet the criteria for a fire watch. The rules covering lands north of Highway 20 will end at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday — allowing campfires and charcoal use outside designated sites while urging careful fire safety.  KMVT
  • The Bureau of Land Management is planning a clean-up event at Milner Recreation Area — volunteers will receive a free day-use pass from Helping Hands for America’s Lands.  Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho Governor Brad Little and Secretary of State Phil McGrane have declared September as National Voter Registration Month and September 16 as National Voter Registration Day, urging eligible citizens to update or register to vote for the November 4 Consolidated Election. Voters must be U.S. citizens, residents, and at least 18 by Election Day, and can register online before October 24 — same-day registration is available at early voting sites and polling locations.  KMVT

  • Former Idaho Vandals head football coach Jason Eck now leads the New Mexico Lobos and gained online fame after a cannonball splash in Moscow; he nearly defeated Oregon while coaching Idaho and embarrassed a Big 12 team at UCLA—raising local interest in whether he will return to the state.  KEZJ
