  • Voices Against Violence served six counties in the Magic Valley last year and helped many domestic violence survivors by providing nearly 3,000 food boxes, rent and utility assistance, and mental health services. Executive Director Noemi Juarez said the report showed more clients reaching out for help — including more men — and that the group is working on teen dating violence outreach while seeking donations as some federal grants will soon end.  KMVT

  • The Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage from Dec. 19, 2024, showing Deputy Jacob Ballard firing two shots at a 17-year-old who rushed him at a house near Filer after officers responded to a call about a stabbing in which the teen attacked his mother and brother— the teenager died while the others received treatment.  KMVT

  • Buhl High School recognized Levi Machado as Scholar of the Week for his strong academic work—his honor marks a clear acknowledgment of his dedication to learning. The school will formally present the award at an upcoming assembly.  Times-News
