- ➤ Idaho Power advises residents to use LED bulbs, check cords for wear, and safely hang Christmas lights this holiday season. The utility recommends using a ladder with help and plugging lights into grounded outlets (GFCI) to prevent hazards. KMVT
- ➤ A Twin Falls senior has spent eight months making wooden toys at Avista Senior Living to donate to Toys for Tots and bring joy during the Holiday season. He builds planes, bird houses, and cars while overcoming mobility challenges. KMVT
- ➤ Grandy's Christmas Craft Show is back today at Snake River Sprinklers (20386 Hwy 30, Buhl) and runs until Saturday, Dec. 13, with over 50 local vendors offering handmade gifts, décor, and treats; the event is free and open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, except on Sunday, Dec. 7. 1310 KLIX
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A new plant shop called Moss and Moonlight opened off Main Avenue in late November, offering specialty plants and plant care advice. The shop is open Saturday through Tuesday (2 to 6 p.m.) to help both new and experienced gardeners nurture their green thumbs. KMVT

- ➤ A local community workshop is hosting a wreath-making class that teaches holiday craft skills and helps residents transform greenery into keepsakes — a festive chance to learn timeless techniques. Times-News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Valley High School is building a new agricultural facility using a $3.5 million grant to bring agriculture training to its students (Magic Valley), with ground already broken and plans to hire a teacher in the spring semester. The program will launch next school year. KMVT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ ITD announced the 12 winning names from its second annual Name a Snowplow contest, using names submitted by students in grades six to twelve. The plows will visit each winning school to teach about winter safety. KMVT
- ➤ The City of Twin Falls reopened the Shoshone Falls grade after completing repairs to the culvert and warns visitors of black ice from frozen mist as cold weather persists; winter closures remain a possibility. KMVT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Great Lakes Cheese Co voluntarily recalled over 1.5 million bags of shredded cheese, including Lucerne, Great Value, and Good and Gather, after discovering metal fragments that may cause temporary health issues (products have best-by dates into 2026). KEZJ
