- ➤ The South Central Community Action Partnership is holding its annual 60 Hours to Fight Hunger drive from November 20th to 22nd to collect food and money for Thanksgiving. The main drop-off is at Rob Green GMC on Blue Lakes Blvd starting at noon on November 20th — a special drop-off will be at Smith’s on Addison Ave — and the drive aims to collect 2,400 turkey donations, up from 2,233 last year. - ➤ Idaho’s hemp companies will lose their popular THC products in one year when federal rules end the hemp exception given by the farm bill — local businesses will then fight to restore the loophole as law enforcement says they lack the equipment to tell legal hemp from marijuana. KEZJ

- ➤ Sawtooth Elementary School set a new record in its annual donation drive by collecting over 7,100 food and hygiene items for pantries in four local schools—nearly doubling its previous total, with strong support from student leaders rallying the community. KMVT
- ➤ Students from Bickel Elementary’s Dual Immersion Magnet School have their ornaments set to decorate the 'Idaho' tree at President’s Park — part of a national display with 59 trees. The tree will be lit on Dec. 4 and open to the public on Dec. 6. KMVT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health experts warn viruses will spread more this holiday season because of cold weather, indoor gatherings and increased travel. Dr. Steven Kohtz at St. Luke’s Clinic said people should get vaccinated, wash hands and watch for mild symptoms like a runny nose—steps that may help reduce illness. KMVT
- ➤ Leapfrog Group released its Fall 2025 safety report for 14 Idaho hospitals — only four earned an A rating for patient safety as winter travel and holiday mishaps are expected to increase emergency room visits.
