COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Cowboy Christmas Craft Fair—an event for local artisans to showcase handcrafted holiday décor and crafts—will be held at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer on November 14 and 15. Admission will cost $5 and visitors can shop early for holiday gifts.  KEZJ
  • Open house tours at the Burley temple started this week and run daily except Sundays until November 22—free for all visitors—while the temple will close for dedication on January 11 when only members with valid recommends may enter.  1310 KLIX
  • Feeding Our Neighbors is hosting a food collection today in Twin Falls, Kimberly and Murtaugh—organizers say the drive is needed due to uncertain SNAP support.  Times-News
  • South Central Community Action said its daily food box distribution has grown from 50 to nearly 100 boxes amid SNAP uncertainty—local pantries are seeing more residents in need of help. The increase shows the rising demand for food assistance in the area.  Times-News

  • Three companies in Idaho were named among America's most ethical businesses; Clif Bar Baking Company in Twin Falls ranked 17—its use of clean energy and waste reduction earned the honor. Idaho Forest Group in Coeur d'Alene and Idaho Central Credit Union in Pocatello ranked 95 and 98 respectively—showing strong local commitment to ethical practices.  1310 KLIX

CULTURE NEWS

  • The College of Southern Idaho Harvest Festival kicked off Friday at the CSI Expo Center with nearly 200 vendors offering holiday crafts, local honey and decorations—proceeds benefit CSI students. It is running today until 7 p.m. and will continue Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with past events drawing about 10,000 visitors over three days.  KMVT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Twin Falls Police will auction abandoned vehicles by sealed bid, and the public can preview the cars at Highway 30 Towing before submitting bids by November 12th at 5 p.m. Bids must cover any liens and fees, and the highest bidder will be notified on the first working day after November 12th — buyers will then complete the title process with the towing company.  1310 KLIX
  • Magic Valley Airport flights to Salt Lake City are not affected by nationwide cancellations, airport manager Bill Carberry said—passengers should check connecting flights and contact their airlines for future updates.  KMVT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Twin Falls police observe Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month by honoring Lt. John Wilson, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2021—officers display his badge number 183 and wear purple ribbons—and Lt. Steven Gassert said Wilson was known for his positive attitude and urged people to talk with their doctors about cancer prevention.  KMVT
