COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Today, the Movers for Mutts Campaign begins in Twin Falls as a partnership between Two Men and a Truck and the Twin Falls Animal Shelter to collect pet food, blankets, and toys. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter on 420 Victory Avenue or at the Two Men and a Truck office on 1205 Addison Avenue West, with a collection table at Fred Meyer on November 6 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.—the drive lasts until November 8.  KMVT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Grease Monkey opened on Saturday, October 25 at 1552 Sun W Way in Twin Falls. The new auto shop offers oil changes, engine repairs and more–it is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.–and is next to Tommy's Car Wash.  1310 KLIX

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Saturday, Anderson Campground hosted the Kingdom of Artemisia's All Hallows Festival where SCA members dressed in medieval costumes, held knight duels, and carved pumpkins and turnips—recreating harvest traditions from the Middle Ages.  KMVT
  • Twin Falls residents joined a free walking tour — led by the Twin Falls Historic Preservation Commission — to learn about the city’s historic architecture on Saturday afternoon. The commission said it holds the tour twice a year and will have the next one in May focusing on the Warehouse District.  KMVT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The United States returned to standard time this weekend, renewing debate over whether to stop changing clocks twice a year. Local residents and sleep experts support a permanent standard time as lawmakers consider bills to end the practice.  KMVT
