CRIME NEWS

  • A scammer posing as a representative of the upcoming Southern Idaho Home and Garden Show is contacting local businesses by email to ask for money to secure a spot on the exhibition floor—one company has already been scammed. Officials advise verifying any such emails with Townsquare Media to avoid further losses.  KEZJ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Filer Public Library is celebrating the completion of a new mural on the back of its building along Main Street. The art—created over two years by Eric Allen and the high school art club—shows local scenes including the library and fairgrounds and was supported by a paint donation from Cam Wells Services.  KMVT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Valley School District is proposing a supplemental levy of $300,000 to fund teacher salaries and student travel on election day next week after a similar measure was rejected last spring—district officials say the funds will help maintain staffing and support extra activities while some residents express concerns over the levy’s transparency. The outcome may impact staffing if the levy does not pass.  KMVT
