- ➤ Idaho’s largest Christmas event is moving to Twin Falls County Fairgrounds on November 28—visitors will enjoy a free chili dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m., bonfires, vendor booths, heated buildings for Santa visits and fireworks choreographed to Christmas Station KOOL 96.5 music while each family donates one new toy for local children. 1310 KLIX
- ➤ Trunk-or-treat events are scheduled across Magic Valley this week with an event today at 254 River Vista Pl from 4 to 6 p.m. and additional gatherings on Saturday at Twin Falls City Park, Sunday at Turf Club, Wednesday at Wolverton Homes, and on Halloween at Twin Falls Volkswagen; events are also set in Buhl and other nearby areas. 1310 KLIX

- ➤ Former truck driver Christina Newlan turned her career into a dream when she opened Chris’s Bustin Burgers in Wendell three and a half years ago—she serves hand-pressed burgers including her signature bacon cheeseburger with eggs. The food truck, set on an asphalt lot off West Ave with picnic table seating, takes orders by horn or phone and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. KMVT

- ➤ This weekend in the Magic Valley brings the final full October weekend of pre-Halloween events with the 'Nightfall' musical playing at the Orpheum Theatre today and activities on Saturday like a fall market, trunk-or-treat at the public library, and a monster mash at Lamphouse Theatre — local events offer fun for all ages. 1310 KLIX

- ➤ Farmers in Magic Valley began harvesting sugar beets after fall’s first freeze signaled the start of a month-long season. Grant 4D Farms, which grows over 6,000 acres of sugar beets, uses a process—removing leaves then pulling the beets—to prepare them for processing at Amalgamated Sugar. KMVT

- ➤ Idaho colleges and universities will reorganize programs and reduce staff after Gov. Little—who signed his executive order in August—made a permanent 3% budget cut, and Idaho State University must cut $3M from its budget. New budget plans for 2026-27 are expected to include these changes to help prepare for upcoming tax cuts. Local News 8
- ➤ Chobani officials donated 200 boxes of non-perishable food to Lincoln Elementary School Thursday morning and completed a 3,800-box drive that served pantries across the Magic Valley. School leaders said the donation helps local students and families address food insecurity + provided an example of strong community partnerships. KMVT
- ➤ College of Eastern Idaho’s Dr. Jill Kirkham won the Innovative Educator Award at the Idaho General Education Summit this week for her creative teaching methods that help students learn without extra costs. She teaches Social Science and Humanities and writes her own course materials so students do not bear added fees. Local News 8
