BUSINESS NEWS

  • Raising Cane's will open its first Idaho restaurant in Meridian at 2712 N Eagle Road near Trader Joe's on November 18th—adding to the chain's growing presence in Treasure Valley. The restaurant will soon begin hiring staff with benefits like flexible scheduling and weekly pay.  KEZJ
  • The Oasis Convenience Store on Broadway Avenue in Buhl closed its gas pumps because of electrical issues that need underground repair work—electricians will dig and fix the pumps in about three and a half weeks. The convenience store will remain open for customers.  KMVT
  • Idaho AT&T customers whose personal data were exposed on March 30, 2024 and whose call metadata was breached on July 12, 2024 may claim up to $5,000 and $2,500 respectively — if affected by both, they can file claims for each — by submitting a claim online before December 18.  KEZJ

CRIME NEWS

  • Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls went into lockdown on Wednesday morning at 11:30 a.m. after a non-emergency call reported a man with a gun in a bathroom—law enforcement later checked the campus, found no threat, and released students for lunch.  1310 KLIX

CULTURE NEWS

  • Parents in Idaho are switching Halloween from traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating to safe trunk-or-treat events — a move sparked by growing safety concerns. Organizers note that the change will still let kids enjoy candy and costumes in a controlled setting.  KEZJ
  • Cirque Italia will bring the water circus to Twin Falls this fall from October 31 to November 3 at the Magic Valley Mall parking lot—offering family-friendly acts and multiple showtimes with tickets starting at $15.  1310 KLIX

  • South Central Idaho job seekers can now view new employment postings that list a variety of roles—these updated listings offer fresh career opportunities for local applicants.  Times-News

  • Idaho Fish and Game announced that the King Hill fishing and boating access site is closed from Oct. 20 to Dec. 19 for upgrades—regrading, resurfacing, new striping, and improved access for cars and trailers—and signs have been posted to notify visitors.  KMVT

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • The Haunted Swamp in Twin Falls will host a Kiddie Day on October 18 from 11 AM to 3 PM where kids can dress up, trick-or-treat and enjoy games, face painting, princess photos, martial arts demos and a craft market—offering a safe, fun alternative to the regular haunted experience. Tickets cost $12 and provide families a kid-friendly way to celebrate Halloween.  1310 KLIX
