EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dozens of FFA students competed near Oakley this week in a state FFA and 4-H land and soil evaluation event (students rotated through five stations to assess soil texture and land slope) to build skills for future agricultural work. KMVT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Twin Falls County is in a severe drought that has grown over a 40-year drying trend—forecasts predict light rain by next Thursday, which may not bring enough moisture to ease water shortages. KEZJ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Eastland Drive reopened Thursday at 5 p.m. after a construction project that began on April 15 which removed, widened, and rebuilt the road—new drainage was installed to improve water flow during severe weather. KMVT
- ➤ Twin Falls officials said Shoshone Falls Grade is open again after high water caused an emergency shutdown near Dierkes Lake Park—crews used plastic sheeting and sandbags to create a safe, temporary ditch to reduce further road damage. Residents are urged to follow posted signs and barricades. KMVT
