ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • District Conservation Officer Robert Howe said southeast Idaho faces ongoing poaching with only four percent of cases detected as most occur without witnesses in remote woods—citizens are urged to report suspected violations with details like vehicles and locations.  Local News 8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Brad Little ordered Idaho flags to be lowered to half-staff at state buildings and agencies to honor wildland firefighter Isabella Oscarson — who died after being struck by a falling tree while fighting a wildfire. The flags will remain lowered until sunrise on Sunday, October 5.  Local News 8
  • The Idaho Public Utilities Commission approved a plan from Intermountain Gas that will lower the typical residential bill by $0.06 while raising commercial and transport customer bills between $435.10 and $649.24 to match changing gas costs.
