COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Organizers of the annual Magic Valley 9/11 Memorial joined Twin Falls first responders and the US military to suspend the Patriot Flag in a canyon by the Visitor’s Center to honor those lost in the tragic events of 9/11. The flag will remain until early Saturday morning — veterans may cruise by the flag along the Snake River starting Friday. KMVT
- ➤ Around 40 culinary professionals toured local farms that carry the Idaho Preferred seal to strengthen ties between food growers and local chefs during September—Idaho Preferred Month. The tour included stops at a cattle farm, mill, trout farm and orchard, according to program manager Erica White. KMVT
- ➤ The College of Southern Idaho held a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on the Taylor Building lawn where community members gathered to hear speeches by the president and a former first responder and listen to the choir sing 'God Bless the USA' — a tribute to national unity and the historic tragedy. - ➤ Magic Valley Comic-Con begins this weekend at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds after a year of planning to move from the cramped Magic Valley Mall—volunteers have expanded the space for more vendors and a new Fight Corner. Celebrity guests including Jason Lee, Ethan Suplee, Butterbean, and JBL will appear as doors open at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. KMVT

- ➤ A national ranking from U.S. News & World Report that looked at graduation rates, test scores and AP/IB participation included 157 Idaho high schools as students started the new school year. Twin Falls High School ranked 10th statewide while Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy School led with a national ranking of 132. 1310 KLIX

- ➤ On Friday, tests on the Snake River confirmed that quagga mussels have been detected again — ISDA reported that their numbers have dropped by 51%, reducing the affected area from 7.2 to 3.5 miles. KMVT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Twin Falls will adjust traffic on Eastland Drive from Sept 16 to Sept 18 between 3 a.m. and 11 a.m.—southbound traffic from Falls Avenue to Addison Avenue will be rerouted to Hankins Road to help Extreme Excavation pour concrete safely. KMVT
- ➤ The Pole Line/Eastland Trailhead is temporarily closed for Canyon Trail Junction construction and no parking is allowed at the site. The City of Twin Falls says residents can use alternate access points (Federation Point, Evel Knievel Jump Site, Twin Falls Visitor Center, and Sportsman’s Warehouse) while work lasts four months with reopening planned for spring 2026. - ➤ Doctors in Twin Falls advise residents to get their flu shot now as cold weather approaches — the shot helps prevent severe illness and is recommended for everyone aged six months and older.
