- ➤ Community members gathered at Perrine Bridge on Wednesday for Bands at the Bridge to raise awareness about suicide prevention — participants tied bands with the message 'Love Yourself' on the bridge. The event, now in its seventh year, gave out over 80,000 wristbands and was organized by Blake Gardner after his son's death spurred the initiative. KMVT

- ➤ Enrollment in Twin Falls schools declined by 174 since last September—575 kindergarteners are enrolled while the largest high school cohort counts 792 students. Times-News
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Reports from the Idaho Department of Water Resources show that water levels in the Eastern Snake River Plain aquifer are holding steady after a dry summer. Chairman Jeff Raybould said flood control releases are helping recharge the aquifer—ensuring water remains available for Magic Valley needs—while an amendment to boost recharge rates will be presented to the legislature in January. - ➤ AccuWeather says fall colors in parts of Idaho may not be as bright in 2025 because trees are stressed by drought and fires — Boise will hit peak color in early October while northern areas will peak later. KEZJ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City and transportation leaders met in Twin Falls on Wednesday—and agreed that Ride TFT will use FTA funds instead of property tax dollars to keep running. Officials said the system got $700,000 for operations and $700,000 for maintenance—and rising demand may cause ride delays until more funds are found. KMVT
- ➤ Crews from Twin Falls Wastewater Department and PMT will start removing a conduit from the city’s sewer main on Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on South Washington Street along Highway 74—traffic controls will remain in place until Sept. 20 and drivers should take alternate routes. KMVT
- ➤ Twin Falls broke ground on a city pool expansion today as plans include installing private showers and accessible family changing rooms—updates expected to improve local facility use. Times-News
- ➤ Today on KLIX, Twin Falls County Emergency Management Office coordinator Jackie Frey told residents to use canned goods in place of glass and to store water, backup heating, and important medicine to prepare for natural disasters and possible civil unrest—and she said buying a weather radio or generator may help during power outages.
