ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ At around 7 p.m. today, Idaho State Police, Filer Fire District, and Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office responded to a head-on crash near 3400 North and U.S. 93 that left one driver trapped in a vehicle— the trapped driver was airlifted to Idaho Falls while roads were closed until 11 p.m. as investigators cleared debris and measured the scene. - ➤ Three people (one with broken ribs) were injured when a bridge collapsed inside the popular Shoshone Ice Caves north of Twin Falls last night and are recovering today while emergency crews provided treatment. Local News 8
- ➤ Firefighters contained the Centennial brush fire burning 26 acres along the westbound ramps at Exit 173 on Interstate 84 on Monday afternoon—officials reopened the ramps and expect the blaze will be fully extinguished by 6 p.m. today. KMVT
- ➤ The '100 Deadliest Days' period ended on Labor Day as summer closed and the Idaho State Police reported more deadly highway crashes in Twin Falls due to alcohol, drug use and drivers saying they were 'zoned out.' Sgt. Benjamin Foster warned motorists to turn off their phones and keep their full attention on the road—stressing the need for caution while driving. KMVT

- ➤ Reed's Dairy from Idaho Falls now sells its ice cream, cheese, milk and other treats in Twin Falls. After a January 2024 fire destroyed its old production facility, the dairy will open a new automated plant on Oct. 1—boosting its production efficiency. Times-News

- ➤ City officials in Twin Falls paid former transit coordinator Maxine Durand $13,886 in severance when she resigned on June 16 to release any claims against the city* She received a two week payroll check and compensation for four biweekly pay periods of 80 hours, and the agreement means she and her family give up any future lawsuits.
