- ➤ After four years of work, local leaders held a ribbon cutting to open Alder Apartments at 145 Hankins Road — the 72-unit project was built with over $1.7 million from the city and funds from state programs to help families earning 60% or less of the area’s median income. KMVT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Buhl police said the veteran memorial wall at Eastman Park was vandalized again on August 28th at 11:28 a.m.—residents are urged to review their security cameras and report any suspicious activity. KMVT
- ➤ Idaho State Police warned that scammers are using spoofed ISP numbers to make fake calls, including one case where a parent received back-to-back calls from a man claiming to be a medic and implying a child was in danger even though the child was safe — a reminder that ISP will never call in this way. - ➤ The Twin Falls County Commissioners announced that Centennial Park will close for a paving project starting Sept 2 — it will reopen with limited access from Sept 11 until Sept 14 before closing indefinitely on Sept 15. - ➤ Some Idaho grocery stores removed Hostess Ding Dongs from shelves after a factory error made it possible for the cakes to grow mold before their best-by dates—affected products have dates from August 30 to September 3 and shoppers are advised to check their items carefully. 1310 KLIX
- ➤ Hostess confirmed it recalled several lots of Ding Dongs after an equipment malfunction created a mold risk in the snack cakes sold at Idaho grocery stores — the affected packs have best-by dates from August 30 to September 3 and the recall was announced on August 21. KEZJ
