BUSINESS NEWS

  • In-N-Out has confirmed it was approved to start plans on a new location at Blue Lakes Boulevard North and Fillmore Street in Twin Falls—replacing the former Outback Steakhouse which closed on Saturday. The project remains in pre-development with construction expected to take eight to nine months once work begins.  KMVT
  • Google's YouTube TV may drop all FOX stations from its service today due to an ongoing dispute with Fox—leaving viewers without access to key sports, primetime shows and local news on KSVT, the Southern Idaho FOX affiliate.  KMVT

CRIME NEWS

  • Corbin Lewis, a former paramedic at St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center in Blaine County, pleaded guilty for sexually assaulting a patient in October 2024—he will register as a sex offender, pay restitution, and face sentencing on Oct. 20 after a psychosexual evaluation and report are completed.  KMVT
  • Buhl man Daniel Dekruyf, 58, was sentenced to 18 years in prison on August 8 by District Judge William Hancock after his conviction for four counts of sexual exploitation of a child by possession of child pornography — investigators recovered over 20,000 files showing abuse material with help from multiple agencies, including Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office.  Local News 8

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A budget report shows Idaho projected an $80 million state budget deficit that does not include an extra $167 million in costs from federal tax changes set by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act—raising fears among lawmakers that the true deficit may be larger. State officials said they will review revenue data in January to confirm the impact.  Times-News
