Good morning, Twin Falls.

Police responded on Wednesday at 8:52 a.m. to a call from Starbucks on the 500 block of Blue Lakes Boulevard after a fight was heard and a man armed with a knife refused to drop it; officers used a taser to subdue him, and he is now held on charges of battery + possession of marijuana + resisting arrest.

At the Twin Falls County Fair next weekend, Sen. Glenneda Zuiderveld will gather signatures to support a November ballot initiative aimed at repealing the 6% grocery tax that funds local government services.

The campaign needs 70,000 signatures by April 30 and comes as lawmakers warn that a full repeal without careful adjustments may lead to higher property taxes—local officials have debated the tax's impact for years.
