ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Blue Lakes Blvd. N reopened after a crash on Wednesday afternoon when at 3:30 p.m. a red Ford Edge turning left onto Cheney Drive collided with a southbound white Chevy, causing minor injuries with one driver transported for an ankle complaint—crews quickly cleared the scene and removed both vehicles amid higher traffic from Eastland Drive construction.  KMVT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Idaho Office of Highway Safety tells drivers in Twin Falls to stop for school buses as school resumes. On roads with three or fewer lanes, drivers must stop for buses coming from any direction — while on divided roads with four or more lanes only those behind the bus need to stop.  KMVT
  • Twin Falls School District is working to fill open positions before school starts Monday—federal funding freeze slowed the hiring process.  Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Navy will showcase a mixed-reality experience—a hands-on look at technology and teamwork—at Magic Valley Airshow today. Local visitors can see how the Navy uses advanced tools to improve operations.  Times-News
  • On May 19th, a Kimberly family saw their home flooded by water from a clogged pipeline, causing about $70,000 in damage when water spread from the diversion box onto their house. They are now filing tort claims against the City, the Kimberly School District and the canal company after spending the summer covering repair costs (a GoFundMe has also been started to help with legal fees).  KMVT
  • ITD and local law enforcement will launch the 2025 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from Aug.15 to Sept.15 to fight impaired driving as Labor Day nears—86 people died from impaired driving in 2024, prompting authorities to urge drivers to plan for a safe ride.  KMVT
