  • The Blue Angels landed Monday evening at Magic Valley Regional Airport in Twin Falls to prepare for the air show; the jets flew in from Hawaii and performed flybys during sunset. The team will display their skills this Saturday and fans can learn ticket and parking details online.  KMVT

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man was struck by a vehicle at a Twin Falls intersection and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries—police urge local drivers to exercise caution.  Times-News
  • At around 10 a.m. on Monday, a semi-truck left U.S. Highway 26 near mile marker 179 and struck a power line, blocking both lanes and causing power outages for several Idaho Power customers—crews are working to restore service with no injuries reported.  KMVT

  • Police identified a murder victim in Twin Falls—officials are still investigating the case.  Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An electric transmission line project approved in 1994 may begin construction this year in Twin Falls and Jerome counties. Idaho Power, an investor in the 285-mile project that will import energy from the desert southwest, said the plan comes as local leaders prepare to review county rules on transmission tower planning—amid questions about outdated public input.  Times-News
  • The Idaho Transportation Department has closed State Highway 46 at the railroad crossing in Buhl until August 16 for repairs and detour signs guide north and southbound traffic to Elm Street while truck traffic takes N 1600 E or Sawtooth.  KMVT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials advise that if a person is bitten by a rattlesnake, they must call (911) immediately since antivenom treatment greatly reduces the chance of severe injury, with fewer than one in 600 bites turning fatal.  KEZJ
