  • Custom Fadez in Twin Falls offered free haircuts for kids on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.—its seventh year of service—helping them start the school year off right.  KMVT
  • Churchgoers leaving mass enjoyed a food festival held today in Twin Falls City Park by the Hispanic community and St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church. Father Joseph Lustig said the funds will be used for church repairs—supporting building upkeep, children's education, and care for visiting Spanish sisters from Mexico.  KMVT

CRIME NEWS

  • Todd Eccles of Buhl, a marathon runner who often trains along the Snake River Canyon, observed fresh vandalism at Auger Falls over the weekend (photos show graffiti and suspected gang signs). He also noted two women with backpacks and a truck with a license plate, and his report underscores law enforcement challenges in patrolling the remote area (cell service is poor and response times are lengthy).  KEZJ
  • The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a 37-year-old man—William Roy Mathers—alleged to be involved in felony burglary, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, and he is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes while his bond is set at $300,000.  KMVT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Using NOAA data, the Farmer's Almanac predicts first frost dates for Idaho’s major cities in 2025, which means frost will come later—giving local gardeners more growing time. The forecast does not list Moscow, which has a year-round frost risk.  1310 KLIX

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Idaho Department of Insurance has released draft health insurance plans that show an average increase of 10+ percent and rises up to 23+ percent due to higher medical claims and costs. Idahoans can send comments by August 31 and the department will finalize the rates on October 1.  KMVT
