  • First responders and the Mid-Columbia Bus Company held a school bus crash simulation at Canyon Ridge High School Tuesday to prepare bus drivers and emergency teams for the back-school season — the exercise emphasized coordinated safety steps for managing potential accidents.  KMVT

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Twin Falls’ average gas price went up two cents to $3.51 per gallon, AAA of Idaho reported. The regular gas price statewide rose to $3.53—five cents higher than last week—while prices stay lower than a month ago as summer travel demand grows.  KMVT
  • Recent statistics show that Idaho ranks among the worst states for working moms and dads—43rd for working moms and 42nd for working dads.  KEZJ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The College of Southern Idaho received a $75,000 scholarship from Metallica's fund and will use the money to support career programs (Agribusiness, Animal Science, Aquaculture, Ag Diesel and Heavy-Duty Truck Diesel); the school is receiving Metallica funds for the first time (its first year as a recipient).  1310 KLIX

  • After America250 grants for 29 nonprofit and arts organizations were canceled, officials announced that new funding is now available to support city and county celebrations, ensuring local events can continue.
