Zeb Bell ended his popular radio talk show on June 30 after a contract dispute at KBAR Radio.

The Murtaugh host—who is nearly 78—said he will soon start a new podcast with a Canadian media company.

Bryan Kohberger, who pleaded guilty to the 2022 murders of four University of Idaho students, has been moved to solitary confinement in J Block at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution — the state’s only maximum-security prison — where long-term restrictive housing holds inmates in single-person cells with limited recreation and shower time.

Landon Driscoll at Hazelton Driscoll Brother Fields began an early barley harvest in the Magic Valley, working up to 1,600 acres daily and producing nearly 300,000 bushels.

He urges drivers to slow down and give extra room for combine trucks and equipment—warning that fast-moving harvest vehicles could lead to accidents.

The BLM is asking for public comment on a plan to lease land for a potential 50 megawatt geothermal plant on 20 to 25 acres in the Twin Falls District — comments will guide decisions on leasing the land to private companies.

Buhl city clerk Karen Drown and treasurer Autumn Jones resigned amid public controversy — their departures follow a censure vote and an earlier physical altercation at City Hall that deepened local tensions.

The city has named Chelsea Popplewell as the new clerk effective Aug. 4, with Drown’s last day on Aug. 14 and Jones’s on Aug. 31 while investigations into the incident continue.

The City of Buhl got $50,000 from the Idaho GEM Grant to start its new comprehensive plan and is working with Clearwater Financial on public outreach and data analysis.

Mayor Pam McClain said the grant will guide future steps—like traffic studies and infrastructure reviews—to support the town's growing needs.
