- ➤ The community event Jail Break will run Thursday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buhl City Park and will feature a fun cops and robbers game where local businesses, led by event organizer Nicholas Ourique, host the challenge—registration costs $10 in advance or $15 on the day—and funds support Sagebrush Days. 1310 KLIX
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Twin Falls Police responded around 7:30 Tuesday morning to a call of a shooting at the Dunes Motel on Addison Avenue and found a man with a leg wound who was taken to St. Lukes Magic Valley where he is expected to be ok + some lanes on Addison were reopened while the motel parking lot remains closed and one person is detained with no public threat. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On June 23, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Rollins announced that the USDA will cancel the 2001 Roadless Rule that stops road building on federal lands to aid fire control and timber production—Idaho is not expected to change much since its own state rule from 2008 stays in effect. Local News 8
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Twin Falls road work shows progress as Eastland Drive will be finished before winter between Addison and Filer while Kimberly Road construction stays on track with plans for resurfacing next summer. Chip seal in northwest neighborhoods is set to start in a few weeks, Madrona Street at Falls Avenue is open, and repairs on Blue Lakes Boulevard South have been approved—measures that will help ease travel concerns. - ➤ Twin Falls City said residents can buy and set off fireworks from now until July 5th only between 8 a.m. and midnight. The rules require using non-aerial fireworks, and police warned violators face a first fine of $156.50 plus harsher penalties for repeat offenses. KMVT
