CRIME NEWS

  • Filer man was sentenced after pulling a gun at a motorist during a road rage incident — the court found him guilty of aggravated assault.  Times-News

FINANCE NEWS

  • A study of 29 million PIN numbers found that one in 10 Idahoans use the same code, making it easier for hackers to guess common numbers. Residents in Twin Falls are urged to change their code if it appears on the list to fend off fraud + protect their money.  KEZJ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Twin Falls officials are exploring a $60M bond to build a new community rec center — the proposal will let voters decide on funding as detailed plans are refined. Discussions will continue in the coming weeks.  Times-News
  • Filer and the Idaho Transportation Department are changing the speed limits along Highway 30; drivers will see flashing signs & yellow caution lights to help get used to the new limits that were 25 miles per hour during school hours. Police will give warnings over the summer and more signs will be posted to ease traffic concerns.  KMVT
  • The City of Twin Falls urged business owners to share their keyholder contact information so emergency services can respond faster during fires or break-ins. Mayor Ruth Pierce said the information will remain confidential + be used only in emergencies.  KMVT
