COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The Shoshone Grade Reconstruction Project finished road work and reopened access to Shoshone Falls Park and Dierkes Lake Park today—improving safe travel for visitors in southern Idaho. KEZJ
- ➤ Legacy Fest will start on June 21 in Filer after the Hwy 30 Music Fest was canceled and will feature bands scheduled to perform along with classic car displays and live vendors. Organizers have hired more food trucks and increased security (in coordination with Twin Falls County) to prepare for the expected crowd (tickets are on sale). KMVT
- ➤ Western Days begins as local organizers prepare a plows and cows themed festival with live music, food trucks, a rock wall, a trampoline and a butterfly zone for kids. The soft open is at noon today with the opening ceremony at 5 p.m.—the parade is scheduled for Saturday with over 3,500 expected attendees and road closures starting at 7 a.m. KMVT

- ➤ Police in Chubbuck found a 36-year-old man dead in his Jeep Cherokee parked in a Walmart lot on May 27th (police believe he may have been transient) and are investigating further as drug paraphernalia was found (an autopsy is being arranged through the Bannock County Coroner’s office). 1310 KLIX

- ➤ With mid-90's heat forecast for the weekend, Twin Falls Police warn that leaving children or pets in unattended vehicles is dangerous—vehicles heat up like ovens and a child left behind may face an 'injury to a child' charge while a pet can incur a $156 fine, so residents should call 911 if immediate help is needed. - ➤ A study found that using marijuana by smoking, eating, or through secondhand exposure can hurt blood vessels and may lead to heart problems for non-tobacco using adults—raising public health concerns in places such as Idaho, Utah and Washington. KEZJ
