GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Summer vacation has begun and drivers in Twin Falls face heavy traffic as the 100 Deadliest Days start—experts report 82 lives were lost last summer during this period. Authorities advise motorists to leave early and wear seat belts while extra deputies enforce traffic laws during Memorial Day weekend—promoting safe driving amid the expected rush.  KMVT
  • The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare began hiring 63 new workers after receiving over $21,000,000 from Senate Bill 1208 to help keep children in their homes. The department is filling 14 positions in Magic Valley and accepts applicants with a college degree or relevant work experience—qualifications vary.  KMVT

HEALTH NEWS

  • St. Luke’s Magic Valley has added a stroke nurse navigator role to help patients recover after leaving the hospital — a position meant to support understanding of care instructions and reduce the risk of repeat strokes — during National Stroke Awareness Month.  KMVT
  • Chobani started its new summer nutrition program at Twin Falls City Park on Friday by giving families meal kits with two breakfasts, two lunches, four snacks and yogurt—community partners helped provide activities during the event.
