- ➤ Memorial Day weekend in Magic Valley will offer many events where residents can enjoy a comedy night at Lamphouse Theater Friday at 7:30 p.m., a BASE jump event from the Perrine Bridge Saturday starting at 6:30 a.m., and a Color Run in Buhl at 9 a.m. Other events include a card show in Filer from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., bridal and movie matinees at local venues, and trivia and late-night comedy programs—providing a full weekend of fun and community gatherings. 1310 KLIX

- ➤ JCPenney in Chubbuck will permanently close its store at Pine Ridge Mall on May 25 as part of a plan to shut down seven locations this year. Mall owners are planning to redevelop the center into an open-air space — a move that may have influenced the decision. KEZJ
- ➤ Les Schwab will open a 10,500-square-foot store in Kimberly at 3803 N 3500 E on June 4 with a grand opening celebration scheduled for June 20 — the new site will offer seven interior bays to service vehicles, farm equipment and trucks while creating job opportunities nearby. - ➤ A Twin Falls man aged 61 faces felony charges of video voyeurism and sexual exploitation of a minor after he admitted installing a hidden camera in his home that captured images of a teenage girl changing in his wife’s sewing room—his bond is set at $150,000 and he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 30. - ➤ During Tuesday's off-year election, Magic Valley voters approved four levies while rejecting a $52 million bond in Filer and a supplemental levy in Valley School District—delivering bad news for district leaders and for the Gooding County Ambulance District override.
