EDUCATION NEWS

  • The College of Southern Idaho held a pinning ceremony tonight for 34 nursing and veterinary tech graduates—marking the completion of their programs and their readiness to meet the region's healthcare needs. Graduates celebrated the milestone as they prepare to fill in the local shortage of registered nurses.  KMVT
  • Sue Benedict, a licensed practical nurse with 29 years of experience, graduated from the College of Southern Idaho as a registered nurse at age 60. Her achievement marks a major step in her career advancement — a true example of lifelong learning.  Times-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today at 11:00 a.m. at City Hall Commons, Twin Falls holds a memorial ceremony to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty—representing local and neighboring agencies and marking a 25 percent rise in fatalities from last year. If you cannot attend, the community is encouraged to offer a prayer for those who served and those still protecting us.  KEZJ
  • Juror Appreciation Week ended Friday in Twin Falls when jury commissioner Amanda Main handed out thank you signs and 'I love jurors' buttons at the Theron Ward Judicial Building. Local jurors, including one who described a murder trial as haunting, were praised for holding the justice system together+ state officials stressed the need for respectful jury service.  Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Friday night, over 400 neon-decorated runners lit the Canyon Rim Trail in Twin Falls for the Glow in the Dark 5K fundraiser organized by the Foundation for Lighting Up the Dark—a nonprofit that supports access to mental health therapy—and ended the event by lighting a nearby bridge with flashlights.  KMVT
