- ➤ On May 14th after noon, a 65-year-old motorcyclist on a 2003 Kawasaki without a helmet went off US30 in Buhl and was airlifted to a local hospital—Idaho State Police are investigating the accident. KEZJ
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Sierra Trading Post will open this Saturday, May 17 at 8 AM at 851 Pole Line Rd in Twin Falls near the McDonald's by the Magic Valley Mall. The store—owned by the same group as Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls—will operate daily from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM and feature giveaways and live music. 1310 KLIX
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ St. Luke’s Magic Valley and the College of Southern Idaho have launched a new part-time registered nursing program to ease the nurse shortage—students will attend evening classes on Monday and Wednesday plus occasional Thursday labs starting this fall, with registration open until June 1. KMVT
- ➤ For nearly 50 years the Martin Farms Fishing Derby in Jerome has given special education students a chance to fish outdoors and learn new skills with help from volunteers from local schools and local agencies — offering hands-on learning and community support. Organizers said they are planning next year’s 50th annual derby to continue this tradition. KMVT

- ➤ The FDA warns Idaho travelers to avoid gas station items that contain tianeptine—known as Gas Station Heroin—because the drug can cause seizures, confusion and even coma. 1310 KLIX
- ➤ Mak Searle from St. Luke’s Magic Valley and Aaron Houston from Family Health Services discussed South Central Idaho’s Community Health Needs Assessment on May 14th—explaining key local health challenges in the region. KMVT
- ➤ Today, the FDA warned Idaho travelers to avoid gas station products with Tianeptine—called 'Gas Station Heroin'—because it can cause seizures and other dangerous side effects. The agency said these items have not been approved for safe use and remain available in Idaho despite being banned in 10 states. KEZJ
