- ➤ Idaho’s Farm Bureau forecast shows a 5% drop in potato acreage from 315,000 to 300,000 acres this year—marking the smallest acreage since 1952 while total production is still expected to yield 13 to 14 billion pounds of potatoes. The decrease comes as major processors cut contracts, leading some farmers to consider alternative crops. KMVT

- ➤ Twin Falls teachers will receive a 5% raise next school year (one new teacher will earn $50,252), and the school district will cut 20 staff positions (due to declining enrollment). Times-News

- ➤ May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and the Idaho transportation department urges drivers and riders to pay close attention to prevent repeat crashes, as data from 2023 reported 609 motorcycle crashes and 39 fatalities.
