- ➤ 72-year-old Bruce Hauber from American Falls misused Housing Authority credit cards for personal purchases between 2019 and 2023 and was sentenced to five years probation—eight months home detention and $79,000 in restitution—federal prosecutors said. Local News 8
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Idaho is famous for more than potatoes—its agriculture produces over 180 commodities including mint, dairy and onions, and an expansive irrigation system helps the industry thrive. The state exports many products to markets like Canada, Mexico and China. KMVT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Brian Darcy, the long serving administrator of the Idaho School for the Deaf and Blind, will leave at the end of June after 16 years—during which the school nearly tripled its enrollment and expanded its services. Darcy will head to a similar position at the New York Institute for Special Education. KMVT
- ➤ Filer School District held its first informational meeting on April 17 to discuss a $52 million bond proposal that would fund a new middle school, improve facilities and boost student safety over the next 20 years ahead of May elections. Some residents oppose the high cost while others back the plan, and the district will hold another meeting (April 24) to provide more details. KMVT
