- ➤ Today in Twin Falls, an SUV rolled over in the 200 block of Filer Avenue West at 8 p.m. after striking a power pole—more than 2,300 customers lost power as fire, police and paramedic crews work to restore service by 10:30 p.m. KMVT
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Tariffs on Chinese imports may force Twin Falls shoppers to pay more and limit overseas purchases as prices are expected to rise. Local dairy makers and farmers noted lower milk prices this past month and experts expect the market to adjust soon. KMVT
- ➤ Home insurance in Idaho is at risk as many companies left since 2023 because of rising wildfire concerns. The Idaho Department of Insurance said remaining insurers are not writing new policies—lawmakers are now looking into the issue to prevent a worsening housing crisis. KEZJ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Little signed a bill on Monday that will invest up to $45 million over three years in childcare and add $4.2 million to help lower costs—efforts that will add 6,000 new care slots for families. KMVT
- ➤ Pole Line Road near Filer will close for major work starting May 5 as crews widen lanes, add new drainage, and build an overpass between Highway 30 and 2400 East—drivers should use alternate routes until the 60 to 90 day construction ends. KMVT

- ➤ Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office warned that rising temperatures are luring swimmers to uncontrolled water such as the Snake River and local canals, putting them at risk for injuries and cold water immersion—especially for those without proper safety gear.
