  • As boating season begins with warming Magic Valley temperatures, the Twin Falls Sheriff’s Office advised boaters to de-winterize engines, refresh fuel, and check that safety gear—life jackets and a fully charged fire extinguisher—is onboard along with current registration. Boaters are also reminded to stop at wash stations—steps that help maintain safety—to avoid fines.  KMVT

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Twin Falls police say 2,200 car crashes occur each year with six to seven reported daily (parking lot fender benders are common) and they urge drivers to put down their phones (distracted driving causes many accidents).  KEZJ

  • Shoppers in Twin Falls have seen two-liter bottles of yellow cap Coke at local grocery stores that are made with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup—this special version is available during Passover, which runs from April 12 until April 20.  1310 KLIX
  • Bottles of Coke with yellow caps are available at local stores and use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup to meet kosher guidelines for Passover—many say the taste is superior.   • National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week is observed in Twin Falls to honor the three full-time animal control officers who handle dog bites, loose pets, and encounters with larger animals (cows, elk, and bison), and police urge residents to show gratitude on social media.  KMVT
