COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Family, friends and teammates met on Thursday at Twin Falls High School to unveil a memorial for Laney Morgan — a beloved member of the Bruins softball team — whose memory will be honored with 21 seconds of silence at each home game and special team jackets that say 'Live Like Laney.' The team said they will keep her spirit alive as they begin the season with plans to honor her every time they play.  KMVT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Amazon informed Idaho shoppers that nine products are now under urgent safety recall due to risks such as faulty carbon monoxide detectors and flammable children’s pajamas sold on its platform. The company filed a lawsuit against the Consumer Product Safety Commission on March 14th — arguing that it should not be held liable for recalls linked to third-party sellers — while its recall page continues to list these items.  KEZJ
  • Chobani held a groundbreaking on Wednesday for a planned $500 million expansion at its Twin Falls facility that will triple production and add about 200 jobs — state leaders including Gov. Brad Little attended; the project is expected to take 18 months.  KMVT

CRIME NEWS

  • Prosecutors said they have evidence the suspect bought a Ka-Bar knife and knife-sheath online before the Nov. 13, 2022 killings of four University of Idaho students near Moscow, and they plan to use details from his Amazon shopping activity in his trial set to begin Aug. 11.  KMVT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • As spring break nears, hunters planning to target rock chucks and coyotes must have a valid hunting license but do not need a special permit on public lands—officials advise confirming property permissions before hunting to avoid trespassing. Local law enforcement stressed that following firearm safety rules and checking for area closures is key to safe practices.  1310 KLIX
  • Gov. Little signed House Bill 41 on Wednesday—making it law—that limits flags representing political viewpoints from flying over public schools or in classrooms. The law takes effect July 1 and excludes official national, state, military and Idaho Indian tribe symbols.  Local News 8

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arsell is recalling Benedryl Liquid Elixer sold on Amazon from July 2023 through October 2024 because its bottle does not have proper safeguards against child access and poses a risk of poisoning.
