- ➤ Twin Falls Jerome KOA Holiday is upgrading its camp before its April opening. The park is improving patio sites, pool, gift shop and planning a café reopening, restored pond and new deluxe cabins next year based on guest feedback — crews are also seeding, cleaning and landscaping. KMVT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Jo Dee Messina, the Grammy-nominated country artist, will perform at the Twin Falls County Fair and Rodeo on Sunday, Sept. 6 at Shouse Arena as ticket sales start at $41 (fees extra). The fair runs from Sept. 2-7 and features rodeo events, carnival rides and free entertainment. KEZJ
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices are rising amid global oil uncertainty as the conflict in the Middle East drives up costs nationwide. Twin Falls and Boise see gas at $3.71 a gallon, with AAA Idaho reporting a 46-cent rise since last week & a 76-cent increase since last month. KMVT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Captain Justin James retired after 24 years of service with the Twin Falls Fire Department on Mar. 16. The department praised his leadership (and friendship) in a Facebook announcement. KMVT
- ➤ The Idaho Legislature is debating two bills to form a task force to manage nearly $200M in federal rural health funds that must be spent by Oct. 30, and lawmakers + rural hospitals stress the need for either rural representation or key expertise as they try to meet urgent equipment needs. KMVT
