- ➤ Gas prices in Twin Falls jumped 16-cents overnight as regular gas rose from $3.17 on Monday to $3.35 on Tuesday after crude oil hit $110 before dropping to below $85 per barrel. The increase stems from higher oil costs linked to tensions in Iran. KMVT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Twin Falls High School is expanding its welding program building by adding 4,000 sqft with a state grant of about $1 million to serve more Career and Technical Education students. The upgrade will finish by summer, just in time for the new school year. KMVT

- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game plans to stock more than 110,000 catchable trout in Idaho waterways this month, with Cedar Creek Reservoir receiving 2,000 trout between Mar. 9 and 13. Schedules may change with water and weather conditions. KEZJ
- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game will stock over 110,000 rainbow trout across state waters this month, including 2,000 trout at Cedar Creek Reservoir (in Magic Valley) from Mar. 9 to 13. Although Dierkes Lake recently yielded a modest catch in Twin Falls, it is not on this stocking list. 1310 KLIX
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The intersection of Hankins Road North and Addison Avenue East is closed for utility work by Voltage Power Solutions from March 2 until April 15 as new power poles are being installed and trenching takes place; drivers should expect lane closures. KMVT
- ➤ Crews are widening Burley Avenue to three lanes from Fruitland Avenue to near Highway 30 in Buhl and updating drainage, curb and the southside sidewalk. One lane remains open for local traffic and work is expected to finish in late August. KMVT
- ➤ The widening project for I-84 now offers three open lanes between exits 173 and 168 — easing traffic between Twin Falls and Jerome. Drivers should plan for overnight closures for minor asphalt work that will complete by the end of this week. KMVT
