  • Drivers consistently exceed 100 mph on the Castleford autobahn, a road linking Castleford to Highway 93, prompting safety concerns for families as planting season nears (bringing slow-moving farm equipment) and increased patrols are expected.  KEZJ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A slow-moving grass fire broke out near the west end of Auger Falls at about 4:40 p.m. today and was brought under control by Twin Falls Fire Department (about 2 acres were affected), with officials investigating its cause.  KMVT

ECONOMY NEWS

  • New job postings are available for South Central Idaho job seekers, offering a range of full-time and part-time opportunities. Visitors can browse the listings online to explore options for their next career move.  Times-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lighthouse Christian School is building a living classroom greenhouse for student agriculture lessons, with its foundation complete and final phases to add electrical work, plumbing, and plant materials (support is sought during National FFA Week) as FFA students prepare for plant sales and hands-on science classes by school year’s end.  KMVT
  • Twin Falls School District is reviewing 95 book challenges from one individual affecting middle and high school libraries. Already, two titles (per the review process) were removed while updated policy may remove books pending review delays; the district aims to finish all reviews by the next school year.  KMVT
  • On Feb. 24, Cassia County School District Board chose Dr. Scott Root as the new superintendent, with his term set to start in July. Root, with 28 years of leadership experience (and deep local ties), said he looks forward to listening to the community and building on strong programs.  KMVT
  • Elevate Academy has opened its lottery for incoming students for the 2026-27 school year. Families are encouraged to contact the academy office for application details.  Times-News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Walmart is recalling several Great Value cottage cheese products in Idaho due to unpasteurized dairy ingredients that could cause illness, per a USDA notice. Shoppers are urged to check their fridges (products sold before Feb. 17) and return affected tubs for a refund.  KEZJ
