  • Idaho Power is rebuilding several miles of transmission lines and distribution circuits as part of a new substation project to support local growth. Crews are actively working on the upgrades (aimed at boosting power reliability in the area).  Times-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The College of Southern Idaho began constructing the new Leroy Craig Jerome Center to offer training for local industries and ease student travel. Construction will finish by summer and classes will start in fall — local leaders expect the center to boost Jerome’s economy.  KMVT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Idaho residents who bought generic drugs between May 2009 and December 2019 may be eligible for money from a $17.85 million settlement announced by Attorney General Raúl Labrador (the agreement resolved price-fixing claims by major drug companies).   • Idaho state rep Bruce Skaug has introduced a bill that would allow students a moment of silence for reflection (or prayer) at school. The proposal, set for debate in the legislative session, lets students choose quiet time for prayer or studying.  KEZJ
  • Twin Falls officials are planning a multi-use event center after a study found a strong market opportunity to boost local culture & economy. They will hold community input sessions as planning moves ahead.  Times-News

  • A new analysis shows that Twin Falls and Boise have fewer unmarried adults compared to some smaller towns despite their larger populations. The report (using statewide data) shows singles must weigh the size of the dating pool against the chances of finding a match.  KEZJ
