  • Twin Falls will host the 19th annual Death by Chocolate event, sponsored by the Rotary Club — raising funds for local projects and delighting chocolate lovers.  Times-News

  • Magic Valley Food Dude is offering Texas-style BBQ and breakfast burritos from its new take-out spot on Kimberly Road in Twin Falls. Opened in November, the restaurant quickly wins praise for its diverse menu & convenient catering services.  1310 KLIX
  • Ford is recalling over 120,000 vehicles in Idaho because defective engine block heaters may lead to a fire risk. Owners are advised not to plug in the heaters until dealers replace them free of charge + contact Ford customer service to check if their vehicle is affected.  KEZJ
  • Raising Cane's is set to open a new restaurant in Twin Falls where customers can soon enjoy its chicken tenders and other menu items. Local officials say the family-friendly spot is preparing for a launch in the community.  Times-News

  • Idaho Fish and Game reviews eight poaching cases that have made residents angry + urges anyone noticing suspicious activity to call Citizens Against Poaching at 1-800-632-5999.  KEZJ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Twin Falls remain at $2.93 per gallon today, the highest statewide, while AAA Idaho notes the overall state average is $2.78 and areas like Franklin see much lower rates.  KMVT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Since 2023, the Idaho Launch program boosted in-state college enrollment by 11 percent in the Magic Valley. The College of Southern Idaho's active student count rose from 450 to over 550 + now offering up to 80 percent in tuition and fee support.  KMVT
  • Enrollment is open for Elevate Academy offering classes in construction, welding and culinary arts for 6th to 10th graders this school year with plans to expand; a parent session is on (Feb. 12, 7 p.m. at the College of Southern Idaho) and a lottery drawing will occur in April.  KMVT
